This compact book divided in five samasas unveils the concept of ultimate truth in Indian philosophy. The work is composed in a popular Marathi metre–Ovi. It deals with the ideas of individual soul-the in-dweller, supreme soul, illusion
and super-imposition caused by maya (the power that veils the ultimate truth),bondage caused by ignorance, bliss of liberation and measures one should resort to in order to attain the liberation (Moksha- the final goal).
The style adopted by Samartha Ramadas to compose this work is quite different than that of Dasabodh, which perfectly suits the transcendental subject matter of Atmaram.
This beautiful metrical composition of 182 Ovis is recited by Dr. Rasika Vilas Tamhankar.
